My hockey career started when I was 2 years old with skating lessons. At the age of 7 I was enrolled in minor hockey in Semiahmoo; there was no Cloverdale Minor at that time. In 1971, the Cloverdale Arena opened and I moved from Semiahmoo to Cloverdale as a first year PeeWee player. I was lucky enough to play on the opening day of the arena to a full house. I had a successful career playing for Cloverdale through to Midget. One moment of success was an invitation to the Dairyland Invitational Tournament, which was for the the top three players from each association in the province, and being selected captain of the team. Forced from the game by knee injuries, after a long break from the game, I came back to coach. |
Starting in 1990 with a Bantam "C" team that had a very successful season, was given a chance to coach the Bantam "A" team the following season. This is when the passion was reignited, taking Cloverdale from tier 4 to tier 1 in three years, and from "AA" to "AAA". In my 21 seasons of coaching I have coached every level, and as many as five teams in a single season. Highlights include making it to Final 4 Playoffs 4 times, and to Provincials once. Also, winning many league banners and several President's Cups. I have coached in the BCAHA U16 3 times, been a team leader in the U17, and also coached the midget Scholarship Tournament 3 times. My greatest reward from the game and my measure of success has, and always will be, by the enjoyment of the players and them achieving their goals as hockey players. |

I was born November 13, 1963 in Montreal where I first started to skate on the outdoor rinks. I began playing hockey when we moved to Richmond at the age of six and competed in the Richmond Minor system until 1982 on the Juvenile A team. I played with the Grandview Steelers in 1983 and went on to play with BCIT until 1986 when I graduated with an Administrative Management Business Degree. From 1987 until 2000 I managed and played on a senior mens hockey team and continued to play organized hockey until last year.

One unique highlight was beating the Cloverdale Peewee B1 team in the final of the Ridge Meadows tournament with my B2 team.
